Vision for Mendota:
When our City website was created in 2007, I stated that our Council and I would try to meet some of our community needs. Some of these goals, such as re-establishing our Police Department, renovating the Rojas-Pierce Park, and to continue working towards creating jobs in our city, have been accomplished. In the pursuit of creating more jobs in the City of Mendota, I worked closely with the owners of Oro Loma Ranch, in order to facilitate the opening of their Pomegranate Plant in the city, and make it a reality. Additionally, I worked with John Bailey, of Proteus Inc., for a program of workers in our community. I also worked on making sure that the new Subway sandwich restaurant opened and created jobs. I continue to work closely with organizations in our community to make sure our citizens are well served. In serving our community, we need a facility to host programs to help with the illness of substance abuse, and also to provide opportunities for indoor recreation and family gatherings. This facility can be used for performing arts, cultural and community events, as well as many other functions that provide encouraging and positive activities for our residents. I have requested that we look into building a multi-purpose facility. With the continuing help of our citizens, we are making Mendota a better place and home.
Bio: Born in the City of Mendota in 1953, I started my law enforcement career with the Mendota Police Department in 1971 and retired in 2007. I also worked for the Firebaugh Police Department and the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
Our family has always taken pride in our community. Our family owned businesses since the 1930's has proven that.
GOD BLESS MENDOTA! |
