Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is empowered and required to hear and decide matters relating to the application of the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance, including appeals under the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance. Additionally, the Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the adoption, amendment or repeal of the General Plan and the Zoning Ordinance; and any specific or area plan for the physical development of the City. The Commission may also undertake studies in the area of planning and zoning and make recommendations to the City Council.

The 5 Member board is appointed to four year terms by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the Council. The Planning Commission meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Mendota Council Chambers, located at 643 Quince Street.
