We're pleased to present to you this year's Annual Water Quality Report. This report is designed to inform you about the quality of water and services we deliver to you every day. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your water. There are (3) ground water wells located in our community.
The City of Mendota is pleased to report that our drinking water is safe and meets all federal and state requirements.
If you have any questions about this report or concerning your water utility, please contact the City of Mendota's Public Works Director, Domingo Morales at (559) 655-3291. We want our valued customers to be informed about their water utility. If you want to learn more, please attend any of our regularly scheduled City Council meetings. They are held on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

City of Mendota Delegation Visits Washington, D.C.

A delegation from the City traveled to Washington, DC, on January 15- 17 to meet with our federal legislators. The purpose of the lobbying effort was to remind law makers that the City of Mendota is an important constituent of theirs, to thank them for their support with past projects, to outline future issues and projects that may require their support in the future, and finally to share the recent successes of the City. The delegation met with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to discuss construction timelines, the upcoming medical facilities tours visit, as well as a joint workforce development initiatives planned for early march where BOP officials would visit area schools and workforce development institutions to educate, prepare and review specific application processes required by the BOP.

Mendota is the New Site for Cleantech America's Solar Power Plant

On November 7th, 2007, The City of Mendota hosted a press conference in partnership with Cleantech America, Inc. The press conference was held to announce the development of a new solar power generation facility in the City of Mendota. The facility will sell power that it generates to Pacific Gas and Electric. The development of this new solar farm will mean potential jobs durring the construction of the solar plant. Cleantech further gave a generous donation to the new Westside Institute of Technology, in Mendota, for the development of training programs to help our local residents be ready to work on the construction phase of this project.
The press conference featured Mayor Robert Silva and the entire Mendota City Council, Bill Barnes and Mark Stout of Cleantech, as well as the keynote speaker, Assembly Member Juan Arambula. Also in attendance were representatives for PG&E, Sierra Club, Congressman Jim Costa, and Senator Dean Florez, as well as Ralph Garcia of the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County.
